I recently had the opportunity to do a test shoot with Brennah Black, a beautiful and experienced model. We had been talking back and forth for some time and finally were able to sync up on schedules until this shoot.
This was a great opportunity for me to test out several pieces of equipment I had in the studio. I used an RGB LED bar, a projector and a large 18-foot screen, a scanner laser with a hazer, and some light shaping modifiers.
I invited my friend Carlos to operate the VHS camcorder that we used to project the background in real time. I shot the Canon R5 for the first time with the RF 24-70 lens and handheld all the shots for the video.While the performance wasn't perfect, I was amazed at the amount of in-body and lens stabilization. This allowed me to shoot photo and video simultaneously without having to mount and unmount the camera from a gimble.
Brennah's experience and wardrobe from Mariemur really elevated the concept. I was so pleased with the outcome and this is probably one of my favorite shoots of the year.
